First-year BTEC Art & Design students at Kingston College recently embarked on their first field trip of the year, making the most of the October sunshine at Kew Gardens.
During the visit, students gathered primary research through sketches and photography, drawing inspiration from Kew's stunning botanical collections, striking architecture and unique sculptures. Their research is now shaping the Kew Fashion House Project, where students collaborate in teams to design and create imaginative garments entirely from paper.
The studio is already coming to life with a range of bold and inventive creations taking shape on the mannequins, and we look forward to showcasing the finished designs once the students' editorial photoshoots are complete.
