Safeguarding

As part of Kingston College's commitment to community engagement, personal development and employability, a selected group of Hairdressing & Barbering students volunteer each month at Kingston Community Centre. Working with people facing challenging circumstances, including individuals experiencing homelessness and refugees, students provide free hairdressing and barbering services that help boost confidence, wellbeing and self-esteem.

The initiative gives students invaluable real-world experience, helping them develop their technical skills, confidence, communication, professionalism and client care in a live environment. At the same time, it encourages social awareness and demonstrates the positive impact young people can have within their local community, making it a rewarding experience for both the students and those they support.
