Kingston College student Kumial is helping to raise awareness of the benefits of T Levels while building the skills and experience needed for his own future career.

A second-year student on the T Level in Digital Support Services - Cybersecurity, Kumial is also a member of the T Level Ambassador Network, where he shares his experiences and encourages other young people to explore the opportunities T Levels can offer.

Kumial chose the qualification because of its blend of practical learning, industry experience and specialist study options. He believes the qualification provides students with valuable networking opportunities and a strong foundation for future careers.

As part of his T Level, Kumial is completing an industry placement with BAE Systems from September through to February, gaining significant workplace experience in a professional environment.

After college, Kumial hopes to progress into a degree apprenticeship, potentially within cybersecurity, engineering or law.

Kumial said: "T Levels are unique because they combine learning with meaningful industry experience. The placement has helped me develop professionally, build my confidence and make valuable connections. I would encourage students to find a placement they are genuinely excited about and make the most of every opportunity. The 45-day placement is the minimum requirement, but if you can gain even more experience, it's well worth it."

Reflecting on his time at Kingston College, Kumial added: "I've had a really positive experience and would absolutely recommend both the college and the T Level route to other students."

The T Level qualification continues to provide students with an employer-focused pathway that prepares them for apprenticeships, higher education and skilled careers
