Haylen chose to study a T Level in Education & Early Years because it suited her preferred style of learning and offered a direct route towards her future career ambitions. Aspiring to become a primary school teacher, she was attracted to the qualification's combination of exams, practical activities and industry experience.

Haylen is particularly enjoying the variety of learning opportunities on the course, which includes classroom-based theory alongside hands-on activities such as messy play sessions.

She is already researching progression opportunities and has been inspired by conversations with university outreach representatives about innovative teacher training facilities, including simulated classroom environments.

Haylen is considering progressing to a BA (Hons) Primary Education with QTS at St Mary's University, London and is also keen to become involved in the Kingston College Student Ambassador scheme.

Haylen said: "What I enjoy most about the T Level is the balance between practical activities, written work and exams. Every day is different and we're always applying what we've learned in new ways. The course has confirmed that teaching is the career I want to pursue, and I'm excited about my next steps towards university and becoming a primary school teacher."
