Mackenzie is enjoying every aspect of her first year studying a T Level in Education & Early Years and is already preparing for a future career helping others. Since starting the course, she has particularly appreciated the supportive learning environment created by both staff and fellow students.
As part of the qualification, Mackenzie will complete a 45-day industry placement later this term, giving her practical experience that will support her future progression plans.
Following College, Mackenzie hopes to attend university and work towards becoming a social worker.
She is also interested in becoming involved in the College's Student Ambassador scheme and helping prospective students learn more about T Levels.
Mackenzie said: "The tutors have been fantastic and everyone on the course has been really welcoming. I'm looking forward to gaining experience on my placement because it will help me develop skills that I can use throughout my career. Becoming a social worker has always been my goal, and my T Level is giving me a great foundation to build on."
