A Kingston College student is setting his sights on a career in cybersecurity after gaining valuable industry experience through his T Level qualification.
Sam is currently studying the second year of the T Level in Digital Support Services - Cybersecurity and chose the course because it combines classroom learning with a substantial industry placement.
As part of his studies, Sam completed a 45-day placement with Marhala AI, where he was able to apply his knowledge in a professional environment and gain a deeper understanding of the sector.
The placement has helped shape his future plans, with Sam now hoping to secure a degree apprenticeship in cybersecurity after college. He is also considering studying at the University of Southampton as an alternative route.
Sam said: "I chose the T Level because I knew I wanted to specialise in cybersecurity and I was really interested in gaining workplace experience alongside my studies. My placement gave me valuable insight into the industry and helped me understand what employers are looking for. I feel much more prepared for the next step in my career and would definitely recommend the course to anyone interested in cybersecurity."
The Digital Support Services - Cybersecurity T Level combines technical knowledge with industry experience, helping students develop the skills needed for employment, higher education and apprenticeships.
