Laneisha is a fantastic example of the progression pathways available at Kingston College. After completing our Level 1 in Art & Design, she is continuing her creative journey with us by progressing onto the BTEC Level 3 Art & Design, while also pursuing her ambition of becoming a tattoo artist.
“I chose Kingston College because when I was in Year 10, I came on an art trip and from then I knew this is where I wanted to be.
“After I finish my course, I will continue at Kingston College on the BTEC Level 3 Art and Design. I will also start tattooing as that is my inspiration. I have enjoyed pottery the most during my course but overall I’m so grateful for the friendships I've made on the way.
“Throughout the course, I have learnt that trusting the process is one of the best things you can do. With the support from experienced staff and your imagination - you can end up anywhere!
“The Creative Industries Centre has supported me in all the ways possible. During my time at Kingston College, I have learnt to socialise better with not just my age group but older individuals as well. On a trip to Kingston University, my eyes were opened to so many different ways of art. On that trip I was able to write a poem about the art around me and really ground myself.
“You get to choose who you become. I reckon you should find yourself too: at Kingston College Creative Industries Centre.”
