Abi achieved D*D*D*, equivalent to 3 A* grades at A Level, the highest grade possible and gaining the maximum number of UCAS points, on our BTEC in Photography. She says: “I would encourage new students to choose a course that suits how they learn best and to take every opportunity offered, and don’t worry if you’re unsure of your long-term career when you start. The course gives you space to explore your creativity and discover what you enjoy while building valuable skills for the future.”
“I chose to study BTEC Photography at Kingston College because the Creative Industries Centre offered a smaller, more supportive environment with more one-to-one guidance which made starting college feel much less overwhelming. A BTEC course suited me better than A Levels as coursework allowed me to work to my strengths creatively and develop projects over time. By allowing me to focus fully on one subject this helped me to achieve strong grades.
“During my time at college, I particularly valued the real-world opportunities the course provided, including completing marketing work experience with a fashion brand and travelling to Amsterdam, where we applied our skills outside the classroom and gained confidence working independently.
