We were delighted to welcome students and teachers from Carshalton Boys Sports College to Carshalton College for an informative visit designed to give them a first-hand insight into our vocational learning opportunities.
During the visit, students had the chance to tour our industry-standard facilities and explore the specialist workshops used by learners studying Bricklaying and Motor Vehicle courses. They also met with our experienced tutors, who provided valuable information about the wide range of programmes available, what students can expect from the courses, and the practical skills they will develop throughout their studies.
The sessions gave students the opportunity to ask questions about course content, assessment methods, work experience opportunities, and progression routes into further study, apprenticeships, and employment. Tutors also discussed the variety of career pathways available within the construction and automotive industries, highlighting the skills and qualifications employers are looking for and sharing insights into current industry trends.
The visit was a great opportunity for students to gain a better understanding of vocational education and to explore potential future career options in a supportive and engaging environment. We look forward to welcoming them back in the future and supporting them as they consider their next steps.
