First year BTEC in Business students at Kingston College recently delivered excellent, well-researched presentations as part of a live brief set by REED Recruitment, demonstrating strong understanding of the interview and recruitment process.

The project required students to prepare a full interview approach for a chosen job role, including designing interview questions and creating model answers based on their own experiences. This hands-on task enabled learners to apply their knowledge to real-world business scenarios.

As part of the final stage, each group researched and presented on a key focus area, such as what makes a good interviewer or interviewee, how to prepare for an interview, best practice when answering interview questions, and the role of documents in supporting the interview process.

The quality of presentations reflected thorough research, clear analysis and confident delivery, highlighting students’ growing professionalism and readiness for the workplace.

This live brief has provided valuable insight into industry expectations while helping students develop essential employability skills, including communication, teamwork and critical thinking.
