We are delighted to celebrate the achievements of former UAL level 3 extended Diploma in Music Performance and Production Kyon, whose creative career has continued to go from strength to strength since leaving college.
One of Kyon's most exciting recent opportunities has been his involvement with the V&A East's Black British Music Exhibition project, contributing to work that celebrates the rich history and cultural impact of Black British music. As part of the programme, Kyon collaborated with other emerging artists and took part in fortnightly studio sessions, creating original music inspired by genres including garage, grime and jungle.
Through the project, Kyon has had the opportunity to connect with influential figures from the music industry, including meeting UK hip-hop pioneer Black Twang (Tony Rotten), as well as producer Lollipop Beats and artist and online influencer YJ. These experiences have helped him continue to build his network and gain valuable insight into the industry.
Alongside his cultural and creative projects, Kyon has remained focused on developing his own music. He has re-recorded and re-released tracks including Boot Ina Boot and Lyrical Homicide, while also releasing an album of instrumentals featuring additional tracks, some of which were originally produced during his time at STC.
His career has also taken on an international dimension through networking with New York artists Blizz and PBMogul, who connected with Kyon while touring Europe following performances with legendary hip-hop group Onyx.
Kyon is currently working on several new releases, including singles titled Big Devz and I Know, while continuing to develop a forthcoming hip-hop album. The project is already taking shape with tracks such as Foes set to feature on the final release.
Reflecting the creativity and determination that he demonstrated during his time at STC, Kyon continues to embrace new opportunities, collaborate with a wide range of artists, and develop his own unique musical identity.
We're incredibly proud of Kyon's achievements and look forward to following his journey as he continues to make his mark on the UK music scene and beyond.
