Electrical Installation students from Kingston College recently visited the Shore Group Construction/YMCA project in Wimbledon, where they gained valuable insight into a live commercial construction site.
The visit began with a health and safety briefing, highlighting the importance of wearing full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on site. Students then toured the development, learning about key electrical infrastructure, including the main electrical hubs and the installation of electrical risers, bringing their classroom learning to life.
A particularly engaging part of the visit was a discussion about Shore Group's Apprenticeship opportunities. Students asked insightful questions about career pathways and how they could join the company after completing their studies.
Overall, the visit was both informative and motivating, providing students with a greater understanding of the industry and the exciting opportunities available within the electrical installation sector.
