Alex studied a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Engineering at Merton College. He has secured a place on a Degree Apprenticeship in Building Services Design Engineering at London Southbank University and will be employed in an engineering role at a company based in Guildford. He says:
"I chose to study a BTEC because I never particularly excelled at written subjects, but by choosing a BTEC Engineering course, I was able to express my work in unique ways and still achieve the high standards required of my coursework. The engineering teachers at Merton College were highly qualified in their expertise and the facilities were unmatched, offering more for the same course compared to nearby colleges.
Life at Merton was more than I expected, the freedom it gave me allowed me to grow as a person professionally. What surprised me was the number of events held by the College internally, which brought students together and built communities from within,
In September I will be starting a Degree Apprenticeship in Building Services Design Engineering at London Southbank University."
Well done Alex, a fantastic achievement!
