After enjoying Engineering at GCSE, first-year student Marcel knew he wanted to continue studying the subject after school.

When exploring his options, Marcel compared A Levels and T Levels before deciding that the Design & Development for Engineering & Manufacturing T Level offered the best fit for his learning style and career ambitions. The practical nature of the course and the opportunity to complete a 45-day industry placement were key factors in his decision. Marcel hopes to progress into a degree apprenticeship in mechanical engineering following completion of his studies.

"I enjoyed Engineering at GCSE and wanted a course that would build on that experience. The T Level stood out because it's practical, industry-focused and gives you real experience through the work placement. It's helping me develop the skills and confidence I'll need for a career in engineering."
