Former Carshalton College student Jezreel has achieved an outstanding career milestone after turning a successful work experience placement into full-time employment in the construction industry.
During his time at Carshalton College, Jezreel demonstrated a strong commitment to his studies, successfully completing both his Level 1 Carpentry and Joinery qualification and Level 2 Site Carpentry Diploma to a high standard. His dedication, practical skills and positive attitude helped him stand out as a promising future professional within the construction sector.
As part of the College’s commitment to supporting students beyond the classroom, Clarion Futures visited the College to showcase the opportunities available through their employment and skills programmes. Following these discussions, Clarion Futures worked closely with Jezreel to secure a valuable four to six-week work experience placement with construction company Arvag.
The placement proved to be a great success. Throughout the experience, Jezreel impressed the team with his work ethic, enthusiasm and willingness to learn. He quickly adapted to the demands of working on site and demonstrated the practical skills he had developed during his studies at Carshalton College.
As a result of his excellent performance, Arvag offered Jezreel a full-time position, enabling him to begin his career in the industry immediately after completing his studies.
Jezreel’s journey highlights the importance of work experience in helping students bridge the gap between education and employment. It also demonstrates the value of partnerships between colleges, employers and organisations such as Clarion Futures in creating meaningful progression opportunities for young people.
