A group of BTEC Music Production and Technology students were given a rare behind-the-scenes look at one of the UK’s leading audio production facilities during a recent visit to Britannia Row in Weybridge.
The visit offered students an immersive tour of the company’s expansive warehouse, where they explored the cutting-edge audio equipment used to support major events and concerts both in the UK and around the world. The scale of the operation provided a striking insight into the technical infrastructure required to deliver high-quality live sound for large audiences.
During the tour, students had the opportunity to meet key staff members from across the production cycle, each playing a vital role in preparing for upcoming events. From logistics and equipment maintenance to live sound engineering, the experience highlighted the wide range of specialist skills involved in the industry.
The visit also shed light on the level of training and expertise required to work within professional audio production, offering students valuable context for their studies. Importantly, staff discussed potential career pathways, including Apprenticeship opportunities available to those completing their BTEC qualifications.
The trip proved both educational and inspirational, giving students a clearer understanding of the industry and the possibilities that lie ahead.
Special thanks were extended to Marcel, who hosted the group and guided them through the tour.
