Kingston College students from HNC Acting and HNC Technical Theatre, alongside Level 2 Performers, came together this week to create a truly remarkable and immersive production at FUSEBOX in the town centre. The students wrote, devised, and produced The Places In Between, offering a surreal and thought-provoking exploration into the mind of a WWII veteran. Following the actors as they moved around the different performance areas of the venue, this gripping piece took the audience on a surreal journey through a broken psyche.
Using a powerful combination of sight, sound, and physical movement, Kingston College's production offered a haunting glimpse into the terror of war and the lasting horrors carried by those who survive it. The performance masterfully addressed the current and timeless issues of how conflict impacts both individuals and communities, while also examining mid-century concepts of marriage, identity, and soldierhood. This production was a testament to the students' skill and creativity, delivering a poignant and unforgettable experience.
