BTEC Level 3 Digital Art, Animation and Games Design students from Kingston College recently took part in an exciting enrichment trip to Comic Con and EGX - two of the UK’s leading events celebrating gaming, digital art and pop culture.
The visit offered a unique opportunity for learners to explore the creative industries first-hand, engaging with independent artists, developers and industry professionals. As part of their preparation, students designed and wore their own themed outfits, fully immersing themselves in the vibrant communities that define these events.
Throughout the day, students attended career talks, portfolio reviews and university showcases, gaining valuable insights into pathways within the games and digital art sectors. They also explored the contrasts between freelance work and collaborative studio environments - developing their understanding of communication, networking and professional practice in real-world contexts.
This hands-on experience not only broadened their industry knowledge but also inspired new ideas and connections that will support their creative and career development.
