BTEC Level 3 Applied Science students at Kingston College recently visited Kingston University for an exciting hands-on practical session focused on blood cells. During the workshop, they examined blood samples under microscopes, identified different types of blood cells such as red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets, and learned how these cells function in the body. Students also explored techniques like preparing slides, staining cells for better visibility, and understanding how blood cell counts relate to health and disease.

Thank you to Kingston University for providing our students with such an engaging and insightful opportunity. The workshop not only deepened their understanding of blood cell biology but also gave them valuable practical skills and a taste of university‑level study, inspiring them as they continue their scientific journey.
