Students from across South Thames Colleges Group took part in this year’s Greater London Skills Competition, which was held across eight college campuses throughout the capital. They joined learners from 15 colleges across the region, all showcasing their abilities in a wide range of vocational skill areas.

Endorsed by WorldSkills UK and backed by employers such as Atos and Digital Garage, the competition highlighted the outstanding abilities of London’s students, with most categories focused on industry‑aligned vocational skills. Judging was carried out by external professionals from across the sector, ensuring each entry was assessed to real workplace standards.

Students from South Thames College across English & Maths, Electrical and Health & Social Care took part. At Carshalton College, participants included students from Brickwork, Digital Media and Plumbing. Science and Engineering students took part from Kingston College, and Hospitality & Catering and Foundation Learning students from Merton College also joined the event.

We are incredibly proud of all the students who took part and put such dedication into their competition submissions. Second place awards were presented to South Thames College English & Maths students Omotoyosi, Franmel, Sophia and Yvonne, along with third place to Electrical student Vasileios. Kingston College celebrated a second place award for Science student Mahtab.  Carshalton College celebrated Media students Mark, Andrea and Ethan wining third place awards.
