Jack Gehring is a Laboratory Technician Apprentice employed by Imperial College. Here’s what Jack had to say about why he chose Kingston College for his off the job training:
Why did you choose to study at Kingston College?
I live locally although Kingston College offers amazing courses and has some excellent teachers. When I came along to an Open Event I saw they offered a good science course which was a bonus on top of a bonus.
Why did you choose the course/subject?
I chose Science as it has been my dream since a was young.
What are the most enjoyable aspects or highlights of your course?
I enjoy the studying and learning, and also being able to get a placement at Imperial College.
Can you provide examples of any particular achievements during your work experience as an Apprentice or describe how you have overcome any challenges on your course so far?
Learning how to supply a building and upgrading my skills on liquid nitrogen and dry ice.
What are your goals for the future?
To become a building manger or a higher level technician.
Do you have any advice for other potential students looking to enrol on an Apprenticeship?
Just do it and don’t think twice!
