The very first South Thames Colleges Group (STCG) Sports Day took place on Wednesday 18 June, bringing together students from across the group for a vibrant celebration of athleticism, teamwork, and friendly competition.
Held under sunny skies, the day featured 17 finals across a wide range of track and field events — from traditional races to fun and unconventional challenges such as the tug of war, football throw, and a 100m walk. The atmosphere was electric with students not only pushing themselves to achieve personal bests but also showing outstanding encouragement and team spirit throughout the day.
A team trophy was up for grabs, awarded to the College with the highest overall points tally based on placements in each event. After a day full of energy, determination, and memorable moments…
🏆 Carshalton College emerged as the inaugural winners of the STCG Sports Day shield. 🏆
In total, 69 medals were awarded to students who finished in the top three of their events including team events such as relays and tug of war.
This fantastic event marks the beginning of a new annual tradition with plans already underway to make next year’s Sports Day even bigger and better.
A huge congratulations to all students who took part and made the day such a success!
