Kingston College Men’s Football Academy has achieved fantastic success at the recent AoC Regional 7-a-side football tournament, held in Walthamstow.

An early start saw 12 players make their way to the venue with the squad well-prepared and focused from the outset. Over the course of the day, the team played six matches and emerged as REGIONAL CHAMPTIONS, securing their place in the National Championships next April!

This marks the first time since 2021 that the Academy has won the Regionals - a huge step forward for the squad. The focus now turns to honing skills and fitness levels in preparation for the national competition, where the team will aim to build on this incredible success.

Tournament Highlights

Game 1 vs Waltham Forest College – Won 6-0 (Goals: Masa x4, Guilherme, Zhiwan)

Game 2 vs Capital City College (Angel) – Lost 0-1

Game 3 vs New Vic College – Won 2-0 (Goals: Guilherme, Tamar)

Game 4 vs New City College – Won 4-0 (Goals: Tam, Ray, Masa, Roberto)

Semi-Final vs Barnet & Southgate College – 1-1 (Won on penalties, with Tyrese making two crucial saves. Winning penalty: Ray)

Final vs Capital City College – 0-0 (Won on penalties, with Roberto and Tamar scoring)

The Man of the Tournament was Roberto Mocanu and special mention goes to goalkeeper Tyrese, whose penalty saves proved decisive in both the semi-final and final.
