Level 3 Aviation Operations and Travel & Tourism students enjoyed an informative and constructive visit to the British Airways Training Centre at Heathrow Airport. During the day, students learnt how to deal with a pilot incapacitation, evacuated from a plane, descended the emergency slide, assembled a life raft, experienced Club World (Business Class) service, donned smoke hoods, and extinguished a variety of onboard fires.
Kingston College has a good track record with students progressing to work as cabin crew, and the day provided a taster of the training they would have to complete and experiences to draw on in their interviews. For students seeking to progress to university and then into management roles, the day gave them an insight into the life of some of the people they might be managing.
