A day of inspiration and industry insight as HNC Fashion & Textiles students at Kingston College explore cutting-edge design and cultural commentary in London.

HNC Fashion & Textiles students took part in an excursion to London for their project research and development. The students saw the fantastic ‘Dirty Looks – Desire and Decay in Fashion’ exhibition at the Barbican and then completed a shop report before heading to design agency, Future Present.

The Dirty Looks exhibition highlights controversial themes within fashion and the industry itself and features the work of design icons such as Hussein Chalayan, Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood, alongside emerging designers such as Paolo Carzana, Elena Velez and Yuima Nakazato.

The design agency visit was an opportunity for the HNC students to try on garments by up-and-coming Japanese designers and gain a deeper understanding of how designers are represented in industry.
