Over the past few weeks, Foundation Learning students from Foundation 2 at Carshalton College have successfully completed a hands-on horticulture project at the Elmwood Nursery Garden as part of their OCN qualification.
The project involved clearing all garden beds and plant holders, as well as preparing the greenhouse for winter planting. Their efforts have ensured the space is ready for seasonal changes and future growth.
To finish on a creative note, the students decided to design and paint a festive Christmas mural along the nursery walkway. This vibrant addition will bring holiday cheer to the garden while showcasing the group’s imagination and teamwork.
This initiative highlights the practical skills and creativity of Carshalton College’s Foundation Learning students—an inspiring example of learning in action.
