Two of our Creative Media students, Cody Thompson, and Marious Macovei who are both studying Level 3 Games Development have been working with Filmanthropy on work experience for the last year.
Filmanthropy is a local media agency. Their employer said:
“Cody and Marius have been engaging in weekly (2-hour) sessions with us since May 2022.
Cody and Marius were recognised for their hard work recently. They won 'Gold' in the 'Young Volunteer Team of the Year' category at the 2023 Merton Partnership Civic Pride Awards last week. We're really proud of them all!”
They are part of a group of ten young people who have brought to life a youth-created, run and maintained community exhibition space in the National Trust Morden Hall Park property.
To do this they have engaged in a programme that included learning archiving, local history and various multimedia skills. And have been involved in everything from graphic design to building frame structures for the space. They are now working on designing and delivering a collection of community workshops for members of the public.
