As part of our Employability Fortnight, Beauty Therapy Level 3 students from Carshalton College were once again invited to the Merton Civic Centre Staff Wellbeing Event, following the overwhelming success of their first visit earlier this year.

This time, the students expanded their offering beyond nail treatments to include massage. Council staff eagerly embraced the opportunity, with queues forming throughout the day for a chance to enjoy these relaxing treatments.

The event provided students with another invaluable opportunity to step outside the College salon and gain real-world experience. They demonstrated confidence and professionalism while engaging with clients, explaining treatment benefits, and tailoring services to individual needs. Many students reported that the experience further boosted their communication skills and strengthened their readiness for future careers in the beauty industry.

The continued collaboration between Carshalton College and Merton Council highlights the importance of community partnerships in supporting student development.

This initiative not only benefits students by enhancing their employability but also promotes staff wellbeing—making it a win-win for everyone involved.
