
The South Thames Colleges Group (STCG) 5-a-side football tournament saw fierce competition as teams from Kingston, Carshalton, Merton, and South Thames Colleges battled it out for the coveted trophy. The tournament, held at Carshalton College, was a thrilling showcase of talent, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
From the first whistle, the teams displayed impressive skill and determination, with each College eager to secure bragging rights as STCG's top footballing institution. The round-robin stage was fiercely contested, with tight matches, last-minute goals, penalty shoot outs and standout performances from all teams.
Kingston College emerged as the dominant force, delivering an outstanding display of attacking prowess and defensive resilience. Their journey to the final was marked by crucial victories over Carshalton and South Thames College, setting up a dramatic showdown against a formidable Merton College team.
Merton College, equally determined, had showcased exceptional teamwork and tactical awareness throughout the tournament. Their route to the final included a hard-fought win over Carshalton and South Thames.
The final match between Kingston and Merton was a high-intensity affair, with both teams pushing forward in search of victory.
With Kingston lifting the trophy and Merton finishing as runners-up, both teams demonstrated remarkable talent and sportsmanship, reflecting the high standard of competition within STCG. Carshalton and South Thames also delivered commendable performances, ensuring the tournament was an exciting and competitive spectacle.
