Meet Lily who is progressing onto our BTEC Level 3 in Art & Design having gained top grades, two Distinctions, in the Level 2 Art & Design
Why did you choose to study a BTEC and why did you choose Kingston College?
I chose Kingston College because I loved the fact there was one specific building for creatives and I would be surrounded by people with similar passions to me. I wasn’t too keen on exams so a BTEC seemed like the right option for me.
Your plans after you complete your course?
I’m looking forward to continuing on a BTEC in Art and Design at Kingston College and developing my skills further on the Level 3 course.
Favourite part of your course?
I have really enjoyed the Me Myself and I project the most as I have been able to explore different mediums to represent my life and personality.
Is College life what you expected?
College life has been surprisingly free and I have appreciated the way teachers have treated me as a young adult rather than a school pupil. The expectations on me to be independent with my learning have been both challenging and rewarding and have prepared me more for real life. I’ve been lucky to have been taught by great tutors who have me helped me, supported me and encouraged me throughout the course.
Any advice to those thinking about applying for your course?
Go for it. It’s a great stepping stone to different creative options if you’re still trying to figure out your pathway.
Any opportunities you’ve enjoyed here that you particularly loved?
I enjoyed the visit to London Aquarium as it helped to inspire the theme for my final project- Aquatic life.
