Level 2 Extended Certificate/Diploma in Art and Design Skills
The level 2 Extended Certificate in Art and Design Skills is a one year programme delivered through exciting project based assignments. On this course you will explore and develop skills in various disciplines within general Art and Design, including Fine Art, 3D Design, Fashion, Graphic Design and Digital Design. You will develop employability and life skills through the many extra curricula activities such as work experience and live briefs. Upon successful completion of the course, you will be able to progress onto higher level qualifications such as Level 3 pathways in Art and Design and Media, Apprenticeships and Traineeships.

This will be an opportunity for you to gain valuable information about the course and give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.You will be required to provide a copy of your last school report and/or a reference from an employer or relevant professional other. This is to ensure we can support you to be able to achieve well on the course.
4 x GCSE's at 3 or above, or a Level 1 qualification in a relevant subject.
Your GCSE profile must include either maths and/or English , or a Functional Skills qualification in maths and/or English.

Course Content
The course provides a broad knowledge and understanding of 2D and 3D Art & Design. It will help you gain skills in a variety of specialist areas including 3D Design, Graphic Design, Fashion, Photography, Digital and Visual Arts. There are visits to galleries, museums and other places of interest. The course is unit based and assessments with feedback are made throughout the year. The programme includes GCSE Mathematics and English for those students who have not yet achieved them. -
Progression Next Steps
Students who successfully complete the course throughout the year can progress on to a BTEC Level 3 course in a related subjects.There are lots of opportunities available to you to progress across the South Thames Colleges Group and into the world beyond education.

Course Structure
The Level 2 BTEC Extended Certificate in Art and Design Skills is a one year project based course with no exams.Any students who do not have Maths and English up to the required level will also take GCSE qualifications in these subjects as part of their Study Programme.

Assessment Details
The Level 2 BTEC Extended Certificate in Art and Design Skills is a project based qualification. During the course you will complete several projects which will be assessed and will go towards your final grade.
