Talented Interactive Media & Games Design student, Aaron Medina, is continuing his studies with the aim of pursuing a career in Computer Science. He says: “I've always had a knack for game development. So, after hearing recommendations from people and carefully assessing all the nearby colleges that offer this course, I knew Kingston College was the best option.

“I had only been in this country for roughly six months when I enrolled. Therefore, I had no idea how people go about their day, let alone what college life is. Since I attended my first class, my time has been continuously filled with new experiences and opportunities that helped me find and fortify my interests, so needless to say, my expectations were instantly blown out of the water.

“Going for a BTEC qualification gave me first-hand experience of what it's like within the creative industry. Undergoing work placements, listening to talks from well-established professionals, and doing digital/traditional coursework helped me and my classmates gain insight into what we might do in our future careers. On top of all that, my incredibly supportive tutors and amazing peers allowed me to have a more enjoyable adventure throughout the course.

“Weirdly enough, this course ignited my passion for the technical side of things: whenever I did my projects, I always liked to spice things up by bringing some technical skills to my work. It also made me realise my potential, not only as a creative but as an individual. That's why the next step in my journey is to do A Levels and pursue Computer Science. I'm aware this is a bold decision; however, I'm also aware of my capabilities to excel in this field.

“Overall, I highly recommend Kingston College, especially if you're also keen on game design. The course has a flexible outline, encourages you to embrace your creativity and willingness to go beyond, and provides a fun and fulfilling experience.”
