The vintage black cab known affectionately as Tina the Taxi is now back home beside the school’s double decker bus - and the children couldn’t be more thrilled with the vibrant new space.
Kingston College students from Motor Vehicle, Fashion, Art & Design, Graphic Design and Music joined forces to give Tina an incredible makeover. Fashion students crafted bespoke seat covers, Art & Design students worked magic on the interior, Graphic Design reimagined the exterior and Music students painted the outside during half term and performed at Tina’s Grand Opening during the school fête.
Caroline Hall, Programme Leader for Music Practice, said: “It’s been such a fun project! Huge thanks to Paul and the Motor Vehicle team for all their hard work.”
This creative venture showcased technical skill, artistic flair and teamwork - demonstrating how hands-on learning can create real community impact. Tina the Taxi is now an inspiring space for young learners, and a joyful symbol of inclusion, imagination and student collaboration.
