Our UAL Level 3 year two students and UAL foundation diploma students took part in a workshop with Royal College of Art, 25 students engaged in talks, workshop activities and one-to-one tutorials with Royal College of Art Students.
The workshop helped to give our students an idea of progression opportunities through higher education and for our students to gain an understanding of achievable possibilities as they progress onto undergraduate courses. The workshop also helped students build new skills through dialogue around context and content of work as well as building through practical workshops involving casting, embroidery and more.
As our students are moving towards their final major projects it's been a great opportunity for them to gain an understanding of how art practitioners work, giving our students confidence in their ability and outcomes, the Royal College students also discussed ideas through one-to-one sessions. Our students also gained conceptual ideas and understanding of new processes that they could adapt or develop with their final projects.
Royal College of art students gained an understanding of delivery to a large group and enjoyed looking at eachothers work through presentations, and gain first-hand knowledge through delivering the workshops and gained community engagement experience in their very own borough.
