AAT Apprentice Emily was working in retail before she applied for an Apprenticeship in the Finance Department at South Thames Colleges Group. Emily is about to start her Level 3 AAT Apprenticeship, which will involve one day off the job training at South Thames College.
With a young family, Emily was unsure whether she'd be able to balance her home life with her wish to study and change her career direction, but is so glad she rose to the challenge to retrain. She enjoys the problem-solving aspects of her job, checking balance sheets, finance details and counting money. The best thing about her role, working in a small college finance team is “everyone is so friendly and helpful, they are all willing to teach you”.
