The excitement was unmistakable on Wednesday 4 February as the doors of John Ruskin College opened for the debut of London’s Got Talent, a brand‑new competition celebrating creativity in hairdressing, beauty, makeup and barbering. Among the enthusiastic crowd were talented Hairdressing students from South Thames College, ready to showcase their skills and shine on a bigger stage.
The competition brought together learners from John Ruskin, Newham, South Thames and Carshalton colleges, each eager to test their abilities across a range of imaginative categories. From the glamour of Hollywood Glitz and Glam to the nostalgic transformations of Hair Through the Years, and even demonstrations of Back Massage Techniques, the event offered something for every budding professional.
Adding to the atmosphere were special industry judges from The Lavender Spa, L’Oréal and Glamour Garage, who not only scored the work but also shared personalised insights and guidance. Their expertise made the experience even more valuable for students taking their first steps into the industry.
The day ended on a celebratory note as winners were presented with certificates and generous prize bundles donated by Wella, L’Oréal and Capital Hair and Beauty.
In the Bridal category, Julia secured 1st place, with Fatima taking 2nd and Rheaon coming 3rd.
In the Barbering category, Isabella proudly achieved 3rd place.
London’s Got Talent proved to be more than a competition. It was a showcase of emerging talent and a celebration of the next generation of beauty and hair professionals.
