Liberty says: “Studying a Foundation Diploma in Art, Design and Media was encouraged to me by my BTEC Level 3 Art & Design tutors. I had enjoyed the previous two years of study at Kingston College so much that staying another year felt like the natural thing to do.
“Another big factor in my decision was that this course was free to me, due to my age and previous study at Kingston College.
“Now that I have completed this course, I have accepted an unconditional place offer at Kingston University, where I will be studying a BA (Hons) Fine Art. This is the next step in my journey to reach my goal of being an art therapist.
“All of the tutors were outstanding. It was a pleasure to be taught by a group of artists who are just as passionate about the practice as I am. They knew exactly how to nurture my skills and push me when I needed it, particularly Rob Miller, who taught me that “work makes work” and the goal for art is not perfection but exploration.
“I chose this picture because it was a reference photo for my final major piece at Kingston College. It’s me standing in my studio, it feels very sentimental.”
