On Monday 24th June, Kingston College’s Hairdressing, Barbering & Beauty Therapy departments were delighted to welcome Mr Taikan Koga from Hollywood Beauty College in Japan, accompanied by Justin Tellus from City & Guilds and his translator, Mika Douglas. Mr Koga’s visit preceded Japanese student trips to the UK planned for this September and December, and aims to provide technical training for students from both Seyfert Academy and Kingston College.
Jenny Wiltshire, Team Leader – Hairdressing, Barbering & Beauty Therapy, commented: “We are poised to offer our students unique and enriching education opportunities through this exciting new partnership. These collaborations promise to enhance the educational experience, provide invaluable practical training, and build lasting international relationships.”
Following the success of the visit, Kingston College also received a request to provide facilities for a group of 125 Japanese officials and professionals visiting London. The College’s ACT Theatre will host the group on Monday 14th October. This event will help promote Kingston College within the Japanese industry, strengthening ongoing connectivity projects and enhancing the College’s reputation on an international level.
Notes: Seyfert Academy are leaders in hair and beauty education and recruitment in Japan with offices in Tokyo and Osaka. They work with all 254 beauty colleges across Japan, and with many of Japan’s 254,422 salons.
