A great start to the new academic year, on Friday 15 September our Business learners were invited to attend a National TV Media Day event run by Business Launchpad, a tech hub at Tooting Works for young people who are interested in starting their own business.
During the event learners had a surprise visit from the Mayor of London who came to show his apprecation for all the good work that Business Launchpad are doing with young people in the community and also to congratulate them on being awarded £165,000 to run more projects for young people at their hub.
The aim of the event was to encourage and support young aspiring entrepreneurs with the relevant skills that are needed in todays' tech industry markets. The event was filmed by National TV Broadcasters BBC & ITV.
The Mayor of London spoke to many of the young learners who had already started their own businesses or who were on the verge of starting their own business. Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, commented: "It was fantastic to see for myself how the organisation is working with young people to support them to develop and implement their own business ideas."
