Safeguarding

Meet talented Performing Arts student, Maddie, who gained D*D*D* in her BTEC in Performing Arts, alongside taking A Level English Language & Literature and achieving a B grade!

Why did you choose BTEC and why did you choose Kingston College?

I knew that when it comes to acting and the performing arts I wanted to be involved in a course that took a hands on practical approach to the subject and therefore BTEC was a perfect choice. Something that intrigued me with Kington College and led me to study here was the spacious theatre and broad range of theatrical projects that previous students had worked on.

Was College life what you expected?

I have to admit I was very nervous to begin my first year at Kington College having no previous classmates attending the course. However, that quickly changed as I became more comfortable with my peers and familiarised myself with the educational shift from secondary school to college life. Kington College is extremely welcoming and easy to settle in to with its variety of student activities and clear safeguarding support. What gave me the most confidence was performing on stage alongside my new friends who shared my interest in performing arts. Additionally, taking A Level English Literature and Language with my BTEC gave me unforgettable knowledge on how the subject can tie in with performing arts and overall helped me with the BTEC course!

What are your plans now?

In September I am off to be a part of the On Screen Acting course at Central Film School in Clapham!
