Carshalton College recently welcomed Ivo from Plumbingwerx, who shared his expertise with our Level 1 and Level 2 Plumbing students.
Ivo delivered an inspiring session on what it takes to succeed in the plumbing industry, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the day-to-day life of running a small business. Students learned about professional etiquette, effective client communication, and strategies for developing technical skills that set them apart in the trade.
In addition to his valuable advice, Ivo generously offered work experience opportunities for Level 2 students, giving them the chance to shadow him and gain hands-on experience.
For Level 1 students, he introduced an exciting Live Brief challenge: design, price, and build a heated bathroom towel rail—a competition that will put their creativity and practical skills to the test.
This collaboration bridges the gap between classroom learning and real-world application, empowering students to build confidence and industry-ready skills.
