Eloise gained the highest mark possible - two Distinctions on the Level 2 Art & Design course, the equivalent of 7 grades at GCSE level. She says:
Why you chose to study a BTEC and why you chose Kingston College?
I chose to study a BTEC because it allowed me to focus a lot more on the hands-on creative side of art and I was able have a lot more freedom with the coursework I created. I also liked that the course was practical and evidence-based, so I didn't have to worry about taking a bunch of exams - instead I could focus all my effort into experimenting with designs, learning more about different techniques and skills and completing pieces for the projects set throughout the year.
I chose Kingston College because I had heard great things about it from my friends who had taken courses here previously. After coming to an Open Day and looking around I really liked the different facilities they offered, so I knew it would be great for me!
Your plans after you complete your course?
After my course I plan to progress onto the BTEC Level 3 Art & Design at Kingston College to continue my learning and development within the subject. I hope I can further develop my skills within art as a whole, and eventually study it at University!
Any opportunities you’ve enjoyed here that you particularly loved?
I loved the work experience opportunity our course was given - designing a poster for the FUSEBOX 72 Hour Film Challenge. We were given a prompt and had to design a poster around said theme: ghosts, visions & manifestations. I was definitely a bit chuffed (and a bit embarrassed...) when my poster ended up being the one they selected to promote the challenge - but it was really cool to see something I created be shown like that!
