Entry Level 2 ESOL students at South Thames College recently completed a unique enrichment project—designing and building miniature fairy gardens. The project culminated in a vibrant exhibition that welcomed nearly 100 visitors.
Through this creative challenge, students developed a range of essential life and employability skills, including digital research, budgeting, sustainable material reuse, and effective teamwork.
What made the project truly special was the personal touch many students brought to their designs. Several gardens reflected scenes from their home countries, transforming the activity into a therapeutic and meaningful form of storytelling and self-expression.
