Safeguarding

In a unique and exciting interdisciplinary project, motor vehicle and creative arts students at Kingston College have teamed up to transform a vintage London black cab into a vibrant student space for a local primary school. This creative venture brings together the technical skills of our motor vehicle and electrical students with the creative vision of our arts students, showcasing the power of collaboration.

Caroline Hall, Course Leader for Music Performance, was approached by Tolworth Infant and Junior School to transform the vintage taxi into a space for students. This follows the school’s recent success in converting a double-decker bus into a library, and now they are ready for their next project.

The renovation will bring together students from various departments, including electrical, motor vehicle, art and design, 3D design, fashion, media and photography, with music students contributing a soundtrack for the project film.

Not only is this project an excellent hands-on learning experience, but it also serves as a fantastic opportunity for our students to make a positive impact on the local community. The final result will provide a new, inspiring space for young students, reinforcing our core value of inclusion.

Stay tuned for more updates as the transformation unfolds throughout the year!
