Safeguarding

On Thursday, we were delighted to welcome a delegation of educators from various public high schools in Korea. The group, consisting of Kyungryeol Ko, Mantaek Woo, Minjeong Ryu, and Sungjin Park, represents schools that specialise in equipping students with skills and knowledge in business, commerce, and technology.

The visiting educators hail from prestigious institutions, including Jeil Girls Commercial High School, Daegu Technical High School, and Gyeongbuk Technical High School. Their visit was part of an initiative organised by the Daegu Education Department, which aims to explore international best practices to further enhance Korean vocational education.

During their time with us, the team toured our facilities, observed and participated in several classes, and engaged in meaningful discussions with students and faculty members. These exchanges provided valuable insights into the UK’s vocational education system and highlighted opportunities for collaboration and learning between our two countries.

The day concluded with the delegates meeting David McClymont, Vice Principal, to reflect on their successful visit. They shared their key takeaways and discussed how they plan to pass on the knowledge gained to their colleagues back in Korea, ensuring a wider impact from this international exchange.

We are proud to have hosted such a dedicated and knowledgeable group and look forward to seeing the positive effect of this visit on the future of vocational education in Korea.
