On Tuesday, 25th February, hospitality and catering students had the privilege of welcoming Thierry Tomasin MCA, the esteemed Restaurant Director of The Savoy Grill, for an insightful talk about his remarkable career.
With over 30 years of experience working alongside Chef Gordon Ramsay, Thierry’s journey in the industry is inspiring. Originally from Monte Carlo, he came to London for just one year to learn the language. However, after securing a position at the renowned Le Gavroche, he was asked to stay - leading to a lifelong career in London’s fine dining scene.
Throughout his career, Thierry has worked with some of the most celebrated chefs in the industry, including Albert and Michel Roux, Michel Roux Jr., and, of course, Gordon Ramsay. His expertise and dedication to hospitality have seen him serve members of the Royal Family, including Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Diana. He was also personally awarded the MCA (Master of Culinary Arts) by King Charles III, then the Prince of Wales.
Thierry captivated the students with fascinating stories from his career, sharing invaluable insights into the world of fine dining. The students listened with enthusiasm, asked thoughtful questions, and left feeling truly inspired.
We are incredibly grateful for the time Thierry gave us today - it was an unforgettable experience for all involved.
