Congratulations to Sarah and Kai from our Foundation Learning course who, with the support of their tutors and careers adviser, have been successful in gaining places on the St George's Hospital supported internship programme.
"On 25th of April Sarah and Kai came to Project Search St George's Hospital to interview for a place on the 2023-2024 programme. Both were prepared, dressed smartly for the interview and ready to go. They both flew past the first assessment and were ready to start the interview. Kai stated that he was keen to get a paid job to help people who are less fortunate then him and Sarah would like a job to help her family. These were such down to earth answers that showed a lot of maturity. We are looking forward to them joining the programme and wish them all the success on it.” Mathew Kaye – Project Search Manager
DFN Project Search is a transition to work programme committed to transforming the lives of young people with learning disabilities and autism. The programme provides real-life work experience combined with training in employability and independent living skills to help young people make successful transitions to productive adult life. The end goal is paid employment either externally or internally.
Mathew added “We look forward to continuing to work with the South Thames College Group and to support more young people with a learning disability and/or autism.”
