Why did you choose to study the Foundation Diploma and why did you choose Kingston College?
I chose to study the Foundation Diploma in Art, Design & Media due to the creative versatility and freedom - I was unsure of which pathway I wanted to pursue within the creative industries and this course was a great eye opener. It is a great middle ground between A Levels and University in order to explore yourself.
Your plans now you’ve completed your course?
I’ve accepted a place at Kingston University to study BA (Hons) Architecture. Throughout the Foundation Diploma I explored a variety of mediums but enjoyed my 3D workshops the most and I want to push that forward.
Any advice to those thinking about applying for your course?
I think one piece of advice I would give to future Foundation students is to truly step out of the box and explore your creative outlet. This course is perfect for discovering different mediums and art styles to find out what truly fits you.
Any opportunities you’ve enjoyed here?
The College itself has always provided whatever is vital for our projects, holding no limits to our creativity. I personally was given an opportunity to take part in an exhibition and was shortlisted and won 3rd place at the Fuse Box exhibition, showcasing the external opportunities offered at college.
All of my course teachers provided a great amount of support and guidance throughout my course from my UCAS application to pushing boundaries within my projects. In my course I also made great friends and worked alongside talented peers.
Programme Leader, Emily Limna, said: "Wahid achieved Distinction on our Foundation Art, Design & Media course. He also won 3rd prize at Young Kingston Artists competition and exhibited at Fusebox during the Kingston Artists Open Studios event in June. Well done Wahid!"
