The lecture theatre became a hive of creativity this week as Viren from AG Barr Group, representing Rubicon, visited our Level 2 and Level 3 Diploma in Creative Media Production & Technology learners to launch a live brief.
Viren introduced an engaging project inviting students to create a fresh, energetic advert for Rubicon as part of their Unit 3 and 4 coursework. The task gives learners genuine insight into how advertising campaigns are developed — from the first spark of an idea through to the final polished video — while showcasing some of Rubicon’s fun and quirky existing ads.
Working in teams, students will carry out market research, develop storyboards, film, edit, and brand their adverts. Their finished work will be judged by a panel, with prizes for the top three teams. The Rubicon marketing team may also share feedback on the winning video, providing valuable industry guidance.
During the session, learners were keen to clarify details about the project timeline, team arrangements, and prizes, ensuring they are fully prepared to get started. To support their production work, Viren generously provided over 100 samples of Rubicon RAW energy drink for learners to use as props and feature within their adverts.
The visit offered a fascinating glimpse into how professional brands collaborate with creative teams and has set the stage for an exciting few weeks of production, problem-solving, and collaboration.
We look forward to seeing the imaginative adverts our learners create as the Rubicon challenge unfolds.
