Carshalton College Beauty Department had the pleasure in welcoming distinguished guests from the Beauty, Aesthetics and Education Sectors with the sole purpose of discussing the up and coming anticipated government new legislations relating to the aesthetics industry. This was not only an invaluable information sharing and networking session, but our Level 2-5 students benefitted from excellent professional discussions and a wonderful brunch in our new Commercial Salon.

Magdalena Jerierska and Kasia Kowal from Esthodrome presenting what the new legal regulations are expected to be and the purpose of their company and how it can support the industry now and in the future. As well as importantly, what should you consider when choosing an educational path and what are the different types of certificates? 

Professor Brain Franks, Programme Clinical Director & Co-Producer, MSc Specialist Practice of Clinical Aesthetics Non-Surgical Intervention, University of Bolton, Queens Institute of Medicine gave an invaluable presentation on “Avoiding the Unhappy Client/Patient.”

Kate Smith, Key Account Manager (London) VTCT gave an informative presentation providing information about their Level 1 – Level 4 Beauty Therapy qualifications. From September Carshalton College Beauty Department will be moving all their Level 1-4 qualifications to VTCT.

Finally, Laura Holdstock, Head of Quality for Hair, Beauty, Wellness and Aesthetics for Qualifi provided a comprehensive presentation about their new Level 5 and Level 7 Certificates in Aesthetic Practice.

Carshalton College are very excited to be the only FE College in the UK will approval to be delivering the Level 5 and from September 2024 will in turn be the first to deliver Level 7.

This was such a successful morning that we are planning for this to be the start of a productive relationship between the Beauty and Education sectors, ensuring that we are delivering up to date curriculums, relevant practical skills and important soft skills for our students to ensure that they leave Carshalton College with the all-round training and qualifications to gain employment.
